MLSA Sharing Content Solution Import | Power App

Thank you for your interest in the MLSA Sharing Link Generator Power App Solution! This guide will walk you through the simple process of importing both managed and unmanaged solution files into your Microsoft environment.


Importing Instructions for "MLSA Sharing Link Generator" Power App Solution


Before You Begin:

Ensure you have the necessary permissions to import solutions in your environment.

Make sure you have the Power Platform admin role or equivalent permissions.


Importing the Solution:


1. Download Solution Files:

Download the solution file from the provided source


2. Managed Solution:

Managed solutions are used in production environments where you want to ensure stability and controlled updates. Importing a managed solution will not allow customization of its components.

a. Sign in to Power Apps using your Student Ambassador Email.

b. After Login, Make sure your environment is selected. 

  • If you're new to Power Apps or don't have an environment
  1. Go to Admin Center > Environments.
  2. Click on "+ New".
  3. Give Environment name as "YourFirstName-Dev".
  4. Select "Developer" in the type.
  5. Click "Next"
  6. Choose preferred currency.
  7. Click "Save"
Note: It may take a few minutes for the new environment to appear on your Power Apps 

c. Navigate back to Power Apps, Select your newly created environment from top left.

d. Navigate to "Solutions" tab on the left-hand side. 

e. Click on "Import" in the command bar. 

f. Select the managed solution file you downloaded.

g. Follow the prompts to complete the import.


4. Play the app:

After importing the solution, 

a. Open the solution that just got imported i.e. "Sharing Content".

b. There you'll find a button to "Publish all customizations". Click on it.

Note: All of the above was a one time process.

c. Navigate to the "Apps" tab and find the app we just imported i.e. "Sharing Content". 

d. Review its functionality and customization options.

e. Add a sharing id with the format "wt.c_id=studentamb_####"


4. Share Content:

a. There's a list of valid websites for sharing under "View Allowed URLs"

b. Simply after adding your Sharing ID. Paste a link in the text box. Make sure its valid.

d. Click on "Generate Link"

e. Copy the generated link and share.


Note:

Ensure that you have backups of your environment before importing any solutions.

If you face issues during the import, consult your Power Platform administrator or support resources.

Congratulations! You've successfully imported the Power App Solution. Now you can start utilizing its features to generate personalized sharing links effortlessly.
